Therapeutic creative stories library

Stories can be a helpful way to support children to explore and make sense of difficult experiences, feelings and changes in a safe and age-appropriate way.
This library brings together a range of therapeutic, creative and parallel stories that can be used to support Life Journey Work. The stories explore themes including moving home, foster care and adoption, relationships, identity, neglect, emotions and understanding past experiences.

The library also includes guidance on creating and using parallel stories. As every child’s story, needs and level of understanding are different, these resources should be used thoughtfully and adapted where appropriate to the individual child. Browse and download the stories and resources below.
