Wales tops UK nations when it comes to helping adopted children understand the early part of their lives, thanks to government prioritisation of this work since 2019.
NAS was delighted to attend the awards ceremony recently for the 2023 Social Care Wales 'Accolades'. The TESSA (LLWYBRAU: PATHWAYS) service, provided by Adoption UK in partnership with NAS and its regions, had been nominated in the 'Building Brighter Futures for Children and Families' category.
On Tuesday April 25th in the Senedd, the Deputy Minister for Social Services, Julie Morgan, made a powerful and heartfelt statement, apologising on behalf of the Welsh Government to those affected by historical adoption practices.
During this year’s Big Adoption Conversation event, which brought together the adoption community to discuss the priorities for adoption in Wales, The Deputy Minister for Social Services Julie Morgan made a personal apology to those affected by historic adoption practices.
