Are you currently receiving adoption support services in Wales? Or have you in the last couple of years?

If so, we’d like you to consider taking part in a research study which is evaluating how we have been improving adoption support services in Wales.

We’ve asked the Institute of Public Care (IPC) at Oxford Brookes University to evaluate the impact of the national Adoption Support Framework we are implementing.  This study is being funded by the Welsh Government who are also funding some of the new services we are putting in place.

Our current ‘Framework’ came as a result of what adoptive families in Wales told us they needed; we want to check that we are getting it right.  The findings will be written up into a report that we will publish and will help us understand what is working and what may need to be changed as we go forward.
You will be contacted by your Regional service or Voluntary Adoption Agency with an invitation to take part.  If you agree, the evaluation will involve participating in an online survey of your experiences of seeking and getting help, and the impact of any support received on you and your family. The survey will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.

If you prefer, you can contact the researchers at IPC directly on the e-mail address below, to get more information and access to the on line survey.

A similar survey will also be distributed to professionals to get their views on how families are now being supported.

We hope that you will be willing to take part and help us continue to improve services in a way that works for you.
