Adopted children will come into contact with health services in a variety of ways and due to the trauma they experienced in their early lives, they will need to access services delivered by healthcare staff who are trauma and adoption aware. Therefore, the National Adoption Service has developed these short booklets (available in English and Welsh) as part of its Framework for Adoption Support; to raise awareness of adoption amongst healthcare practitioners so they can better understand and support the needs of adopted children and their families.
