Planning for future Welsh adoption services
30 July 2025
An important role the National Adoption Service for Wales is to have a forward-looking plan so services can continue to develop and improve. The current ‘Adopt Cymru 2025 and beyond…….’ plan is due for renewal so the Governance Board and other stakeholders met in June to consider a plan from April 2026 onwards.
In all, 36 professionals and representatives of the people who use Welsh adoption services, considered current and future priorities in a session facilitated by Professor Keith Moultrie from the Institute of Public Care.
From this a plan is being developed which we aim to share widely before finalising and using it to steer future services.
We produce a public report twice a year to outline progress and discuss with the Minister for Children and Social Care. Our annual report for 2024/25 will soon be published and available here. This link will also take you to previous annual and mid-year reports.
